There have been many rumors swirling about regarding the operation of Mid-Michigan Speedway.
I just got off the phone with Jerry Rabbers, he told me that Mid-Michigan Speedway will NOT be closed this weekend.
He directly disputed the report on The Racing Show, said that he has had discussions with his lawyer and said they will not be closed.
I was not able to get in contact with Jim Leasure, so I do not know his side of this. Update : I spoke with Jim Leasure on Monday evening, he said "I did not tell anyone that the track was going to be closed."
I do not have a personal opinion on this, I just heard it reported that it would be closed and that as of 7:45pm I was told directly by Jerry Rabbers that it was not correct.
Jerry also wanted to address the subject of checks.
There were some checks which were written which weren't honored by his bank. I could go into the endless details of how that happen, but suffice to say there were several events which took place, primarily surrounding checks which were written to him which didn't clear.
Yes.. that is the oldest story in the book, someone bounced a check to me, so my check bounced. It is the oldest story because it happens.
Whether or not you think it happen in this case will be up to you to decide, I think that Jerry has accomplished enough in his professional life that he wouldn't write a bunch of bad checks knowingly. That is just my personal opinion on that subject.
When and/or if I get further details, I'll update the information available here.
