TheShortTrackTruck.com Challenge Series launched the 2009 season with a great race at Angola Motor Speedway on May 23rd.
The Short Track Trucks saw fifteen trucks in the pit area for their first night of racing.
Jim Davis set fast time for the evening, winning the Renegade Racing Fuels Fast Qualifer Award.
Starting on the pole, Davis set the pace at the drop of the green flag, but before the field came around to take lap one it was All Star Performance Hard Charger Rob Roney leading the pack.
Roney was the class of the field and would lead for the majority of the race.
The best racing action of the evening took place between 2nd and 3rd place finishers Keith Wioncek and Scott Sigman. The Beacon Dodge teammates would go back and forth with Wioneck holding off Short Track Truck rookie Sigman to take the runner’s up spot.
Race award winners were : Allstar Performance Hard Charger: Rob Roney; Engine Pro Lucky Dog Award: John Wyatt; Renegade Racing Fuels Fast Qualifier: Jim Davis; Rookie of the Race: Scott Sigman; Speed Pro Master of the Race: Rob Roney; Lap Leaders: Keith Wioncek, Rob Roney
