The Short Track Truck Series is only a few weeks away from making its 2009 debut at New Paris Speedway and already the drivers are getting geared up for the event.
Kyle Callahan, driver of the No. 87 Kim Christensen Octane Beauty Studio Ford racing out of Midland, Mi said “We can’t wait to get back on the track. This season has been kind of a slow year for us, but we are anxious to come out and put on a good show.”
For Callahan, this means a return to the circuit after nearly two years off. “We got tangled up in a wreck at the end of the 2007 season and we spent most of last year getting everything fixed. We could have been out quicker with inferior stuff, but we decided to wait and fix it right.”
Joining Callahan will be the driver of the No. 88 Beacon Sales Dodge of Scott Sigman.
Sigman was the 2008 Sportsman track champion at Springport Motor Speedway after having won a Pony Stock Championship a few years earlier at Spartan Speedway.
Sigman made the jump to the Short Track Truck Series over the winter and has been a consistant Top 3 finisher so far this season, but hasn’t quite found victory lane yet.
“Can’t wait to get to the 1/4 mile of New Paris” said Sigman. “The bigger tracks are better suited for Roney, when we get him in the bullring, we’ll show folks what we can do”
