Auto City Speedway packed last Saturday’s line-up with Autograph night presented by Coca-Cola, the Modern Concrete Street Stock Shout-Out presented by Billy’s Roadhouse, the Bob Kern’s Down & Dirty Figure-8 Invite, plus regular weekly events in the Auto City Super Stocks, the Dart Modifieds, Herald Pure Stocks and the Spaulding Insurance Hornets.

Unfortunately, the rain monster reared its ugly head and cut the night a little short.

Track Owner Joe DeWitte knew the rain was on the way and did everything in his power to fit in as much action packed racing as possible and still give the fans plenty of time on the track with the drivers and cars for Autograph Night.

Auto City Super Stocks fast qualifier Kyle Hayden started eighth after the invert for the 30-lap feature. Hayden worked his way through all the traffic to take the lead with 12 laps to go and stayed out front for his second feature win of the season.

The 30-lap Modern Concrete Street Stocks Shoot-Out victory went to current Street Stock Points Leader Adam Rowe. Rowe came from an eighth position start to take the lead in lap 10, found a good line and held off hard charges from Jay Woolworth, Jim Miller Jr. and Curtis Hayden for 20 laps to the finish-line.

The Herald Pure Stocks 25-lap feature was cut short by 12 laps because of the rain, but what the event lacked in laps around the track, it more than made up for with pure racing excitement.

Three Pure Stock favorites, Chad Lamson, Duane Damon and Lonnie Saumier Jr. were in a three way battle for first that had Auto City fans on their feet for most of the race. Chad Lamson No. 888 refused to make way for the other two and was sitting in the top spot when the race was called.

The Bob Kern's Down & Dirty Figure-8 Invite was cancelled.

Next week is the Budweiser Sprint Spectacular VIP, with the Buckeye Sprints and feature events in the Dart Modifieds, Herald Pure Stocks, Spaulding Insurance Hornets and the Auto City Figure-8 classes.
