New managers Jeff and Pam Parish have added a few new frills and thrills to Dixie Motor Speedway.

The Parish team is working hard to make 2009 one of the best years in the history of the track, and to make sure they get the job done they’ve incorporated a new points system and added two new Racing Series to the already packed schedule.

The new points system is laid out in black and white on the web site www.dixiemotorspeedway.com, and it was recently adopted by the new managers in order to focus on the loyal and dedicated drivers that frequent Dixie on a regular basis.

The first Series addition is the Modifieds Short Track Series.

Four times this season, the local, weekly Modifieds racing series will journey back in time and hit the 1/3 mile short track for a new Modifieds Short Track Series at Dixie. The Series started on Friday May 15th and will continue with one race per month until the Champion is crowned on the front-stretch on Sunday August 9th.

Last, but not least, move over thoroughbreds, there’s a new Triple Crown in Town.

Dixie has added a third Super Late 100-lapper to the 2009 schedule to form the new Dixie Cup Triple Crown Series in 2009!

The Series will kick off on Friday June 12th with the First Annual East vs. West Shootout 100. The Series will pick up speed on Friday July 10th with the 44th Annual Dixie Classic 100, and the Triple Crown Champ will be decided in the 7th Annual All-American Smackdown 100 on Friday August 7th.

Can it get any better? Yes it can!

The Smackdown is scheduled as part of the BIG ONE VII in a doubleheader with the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint Series.

Dixie fans, hold on to your seats, it’s gonna be a wild ride in 2009!
