With the season opener just a month away, Norway Speedway is gearing up for another season of high paced racing.
I interviewed Jim Stachina, the current Vice-President of Norway Speedway. Jim, a long time fan of Dick Trickle, has been associated with the club for the past 4 years and has been participating in the 4-cylinder division since 2001.
Jim Stachina, the current Vice-President of the speedway, is anticipating a great racing season. When asked about the economy, Jim expressed no worry about the attendance in 2009. “The economy is affecting everyone.
The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Challenge Series will be changing for the 2009 season. Instead of a 3 race series with a champion, Norway Speedway will be featuring two Auto Value races instead, pooling all them money into larger payouts attracting more out of town talent.
The highlight of the 2008 season, the Drive Line 100, will be making a come back for the 2009 season. Norway Speedway held the first pay per lap event in the country, and with great success. Jim anticipates the Drive Line 100 to be even bigger this year.
Norway Speedway will not be making any significant rule changes, keeping in line with tracks in the north-eastern
