Jerime Damron won $220 Saturday at the Mottville Speedway as he won the 25 lap feature and a heat race!

Damron took an early lead in the feature and then twice held of Shane Eldrdige for the win.

On lap 6 Eldridge got into the back of Damron’s car, sending him spinning.

Eldrdige was put to the tail but by lap 12 was in 2nd again.

Eldrdige settled for 2nd followed by Eric Fisher, Taylor Oberlin, Luke Thomas, Rod Roberts and Bob Johnson.

Bryce Shaffer won the 2nd heat but could not get the car running at feature time.

Tom Wilson also had mechanical woes and could not run the feature.

Eldrdige did take home $165, Fisher won $105, Oberlein $75 and Thomas $50.

Starting next week if the Mini Thunder Cars have at least 3 cars they will run a seperate heat and if they have at least 4 cars they run a seperate feature.

Troy Allard picked up his 2nd kart feature win in as many nights as won the 15 lapper over Marshall Pebler, Travis Allard, Jacob Hamilton, Tim Lafler, Jeff Hamilton and Chase Allard.

Pebler and Troy Allard won heats.

J.R. Allard broke and could not run.

Next week, April 18, gates open at 3pm and racing starts at 4pm. Sunday is the rain date, if needed.

We are making slow progress-Mini Stocks went from 3 to 6, MTC from 1 to 3 and Karts from 6 to 8!

Now here is something you may not have been aware of: We have not had a single MS or MTC from Michigan yet!

But I have had calls from Flint, Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Battle Creek and those areas galore!

I feel fairly confident we have quite a few mini thunder cars coming over the next 2-3 weeks.

Lou Coposey is working on one for his daughter.

Three time Indiana-Michigan Challenge Cup winner Tim Horvath called and he has two sons raady to race! I know one for certain was a Mini Stock and I think the 2nd one might be a MTC. He is about two weeks away form being ready yet.

We have agreed to run the MTC seperate for a heat with only 3 cars and for a feature with only 4!

Plus I have even told the MTC drivers if we get a real slow MS and they are comfortable with that car racing with them I will count that car!

We are offering a very strong pay-off for the MTC: Feature: $100-60-50-40-30-$25 and heats $15-10-5!

Our Mini Stock pay-off is actually way better than some near by tracks! What we have been paying for 4th is what at least one track pays for 1st!

We have new people in the concession stand this season and a new flag person but all are working out well, although we do need to get faster on lining cars up again after a caution.

What a shocker the 66 car of Luke Thomas was! When I saw this car pull in I figured it was a late model coming to get some hot laps in!

But after looking it over head to toe, inside and out, Tom Pearson and I both agreed it is bone stock!  Beautiful car!

I figure when the smoke clears we will have a full field of cars.
If we do not-well, those who do make it to Mottville are not going away unhappy!
