Rhoarig Roaring at M40

Mother Nature held off Friday night long enough for the M40 Speedway to get in their whole program of racing action, including the third installment of the Late Model Challenge Series.  The devoted fans were on hand to see the always great racing action at the track and a great car count for the Late Model main event.

When the Late Models pulled onto the track for the 75 lap race, it was just a matter of time before the No.25 of JR Rhoarig would make its way to the front.  Patiently, Rhoarig drove to the front and at around the halfway point took the lead and checked out.  Rhoarig would go on for the win, just six days after winning the Late Model Spectacular 100 lap race.  Rhoarig's son Tyler, would finish second, just ahead of Bobby Stremme.  Brandon Zachary had a strong fourth place finish, with Donny Klotz rounding out the top five.

" The car was real good off turn two, but a little loose off four.  We are good on the bottom, the inside is fast, I didnt know how that would play out ", said Rhoarig, in the post race inspection.  " We enjoy racing here, and are very happy with the one, two finish ", he added.

JR Rhoarig also thanked his crew and Schneider Auto Sales Incorporated.

In the Pro-Stocks, Bill Hartman was back in action, and putting on a one man racing show.  Hartman not only won his heat race, but also took home the checker in the feature.  The feature win was Hartman's first of the season at M40.  Rodney Smith continued his stellar season, finishing in the runner-up position.  Gary Wyrick Jr. held off Fred Reed for third, with Mickey Cornwell rounding out the top five.

" The harder I pushed, the more it got loose.  It was real loose the last 20 laps.  All in all, it was good to come back our first night and win the heat race and the feature ", said Hartman.

Bill Hartman also wanted to thank All-Star Performance, his dad  Fred, sister  Paula, brother in-law Angelo, wife Lisa and Rodney.

Fred Reed won the only other heat of the night in the Pro-Stocks, giving him six heat wins on the season, seven wins overall.

Talking with Pure Stock driver Josh Highbaugh before the night began, he said, " after we get the first win ( feature win last week ) out of the way, we continue to win ".  Josh held true to his word, as he went out in heat two and took his second win in as many weeks.  Travis Rozner also picked up his second win of the season, winning heat one.  The feature however, was all Burney Arnett.  A week after accepting the punishment for jumping the restart of the feature, Arnett proved he deserved to be up front, taking home his second feature of the season, and sixth win overall.

" I had to work for that one a bit.  I set-up the car for the outside groove, less cars, why not ", said Arnett.  " Justice was served, you are always going to have bumps, but patience comes with old age ", adds Arnett.

Burney also thanked Williamson Auto, Clewell Motors, Paisao's Bar & Grill of Three Rivers and Custom Lawn Care of White Pigeon.

In the weeks coming, July 24th will be a regular program of Late Models, Pro-Stocks, and Pure Stocks.  Sunday July 26th, The Enduro racing action will be at the M40 Speedway.  July 31st, will be a regular racing program of the Late Models, Pro-Stocks, and Pure Stocks.  August 7th will be Old-timers Night at the track, with a vintage race-car show and a regular race program of Late Models, Pro-Stocks, and Pure Stocks.  Don't miss any of the upcoming action as the fans will always be the winner at the M40 Speedway.
