If the grandstands along the front stretch of Spartan Speedway look a bit higher than normal, well, they are. The speedway purchased a section of grandstand from MIS, in Brooklyn, MI after their recent upgrade, making Spartan the ultimate recycler. The old grandstands were dismantled leaving the front stretch looking oddly vacant. Gradually, steel beams were set and the grandstand began to be erected. Then another whole tier of seating took shape on top of the bottom section with that second tier towering over the concourse. The press box is perched at the very top, dead center, for a bird’s eye view of the action on the ¼-mile asphalt oval. One can only imagine the view the fans that make the climb to the top are going to have.

The 2010 racing season kicks off at the Spartan Speedway with Test and Tune, Saturday, April 17^th, with gates opening at 10 am and practice running from 11 am-3 pm. Another Test and Tune session takes place Sunday, April 18^th. Gates open at 12 noon and practice runs from 1-5 pm. Opening night is Friday, April 23^rd, featuring the Andrews Chevrolet Super Late Models, Valvoline Instant Oil Change Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Boss Snow Equipment Pony Stocks. Friday, April 30^th, is the MOD 50 featuring the Valvoline Instant Oil Change Modifieds. Also on the docket for the evening, the latest addition to the Spartan family, the Traditional Sprints, along with the Pure Stocks and Boss Snow Equipment Pony Stocks.

Pit Gates open at 2 pm with hot laps at 3:45 pm, followed by qualifying at 5 pm. General admission gates open at 5 pm, with racing at 7:30 pm. General admission ticket prices are $12 for adults, seniors $9, children 6-12 $5, and children 5 and under are FREE! A family pack of tickets is available at a great savings with 2 adults and 2 children (6-12) admitted for $30.
