The Andrew’s Chevrolet Super Late Models took to the tight ¼-mile of the Spartan Speedway to run their 40-lap feature. Logan Beckwith led the charge on the start, followed by Chuck Garrison, Dave Stehouwer, Andy Bozell and Jon McNett. Caution on lap two and caution on the restart set up Bozell for a great run on the outside, getting around Stehouwer and Garrison to sit in the second spot by lap nine. Beckwith opened up a pretty good lead when caution waved on lap 14, sending both Stehouwer and Tom Fedewa to the rear of the field. On the restart, Evan Barrett found himself in the top five behind Jimmy Gallagher and McNett. Fedewa went to work on Stehouwer for seventh when Garrison spun coming out of turn one, collecting Fedewa and Stehouwer on lap 19. Gallagher and McNett , in third and fourth respectively, sat back and watched Bozell try both the high- and low-side looking for a way around Beckwith on lap 20. Bozell stuck a nose under Beckwith, and the duo was side by side at the line with Bozell taking the lead on lap 27. Beckwith then had his hands full trying to fend off Gallagher and McNett. Gallagher slid up the track coming out of turn two and Gallagher drove underneath him and into the second position. Knowing that McNett can make the high groove work for him, Beckwith opted to take that line around the track, brushing the front stretch wall on lap 37. Caution waved on lap 38 as Beckwith and McNett spun, sending both to the rear. This set up a two-lap shootout for the checker, with Bozell still shown as the leader. At the stripe, it was Bozell making his first trip to the Corrigan Oil Winner’s Circle in 2009. Gallagher, Barrett, McNett, Garrision, Beckwith and Dean Gassert rounded out the top finishers. Gallagher took the four car dash win with Fedewa tallying the heat win.
Two seasoned veterans, Dan Loughan and Ken Buchner, brought the field of Valvoline Instant Oil Change Modifieds down for the green, with Loughan grabbing the top spot in the 35-lap feature. Loughan led through lap seven as Perry Davenport made his way under Buchner, bringing Chris Ozanich and Leroy Ellis along with him. Earl Miles worked his way into the top five behind Ellis on lap five. Lap seven saw Davenport stick a nose under Loughan for the lead, with Ozanich tacked on Davenport’s bumper poised to take away second. Davenport took away the top spot, while Ozanich and Ellis slipped under Loughan, for second and third respectively. Caution waved on lap nine and on the restart, Travis Eddy drove under Tom Hernly Jr. for sixth. Miles picked off Loughan to advance to fourth and Eddy cracked the top five, making his way around Loughan. On lap 13, Ozanich took the lead from Davenport coming out of turn two, but Davenport wasn’t going down without a fight. As Davenport tried to take back the lead, Ellis looked to the outside of Davenport on lap 22 but Davenport shut the door and was able to hold off Ellis. Lap 27 saw the leaders into traffic, but at the stripe, it was Ozanich, Davenport, Ellis, Miles and Eddy. Ellis won the four car dash and Nate Moon took the heat win.
The Performance Automotive NW Sportsmans lined up for their 25-lap feature, with Jimmy Scavarda taking the lead as the green flag waved. With Matt Kirchen hung up in the second groove, Damon Place and Dane Long battled for second. Caution waved as Long got into Place, sending the dup to the rear of the field. On the restart, it was Scavarda, Jack Koone Jr., Kirchen, Place, Long and Dan Baschal. Lap five saw a mechanical malfunction send Place head-on into the turn one wall ending his night. On the restart, Long went to work on Kirchen for third, while Koone went after Scavarda for the lead. Koone stuck a nose under Scavarda on lap eight, forcing Scavarda up the track and opening the door for Koone to take the lead. Long had made his way around Kirchen to challenge for second, broadsliding his truck under Scavarda, coming out of turn four, to take away the second spot. Koone had opened up a sizeable lead by lap eleven, and with laps winding down, Long had to settle for second behind Koone. Scavarda, Kirchen and Baschal rounded out the top five. Long brought home the heat win for the evening.
The Spartan Pure Stocks took to the track for what proved to be an interesting 20-lap feature. As the green flag waved, Justin Lewis and Matt Childers got tangled up, setting up a complete restart. Ian Schafer and Jacob Pearson brought the field down, with caution waving again on lap one. On the restart, Lewis jumped out to take the lead, while Schafer and Mark Childers battled for the second position. Childers got around Schafer and went after Lewis, with the two putting on a driving demonstration. Already coming up on lapped cars by lap six, Childers dropped to the bottom of the track, while Lewis took the high side, sandwiching a lapped car in the middle. It was Childers with the advantage on lap seven. Caution waved again on lap eight, with Spencer Drake making the pass on Lewis stick on lap eight, only to see caution wave on the very next lap. On the restart, Drake took the high side, looking for a way around Childers, careened off the front stretch wall and into the side of Childers. The battled raged on into turn one with Drake winning the war. Caution on lap 11, and on the restart, set up Mark Carson for a run on Schafer for fourth, as Childers tacked himself onto Drake’s rear bumper. As the pair went into turn four, coming down for the checker, Drake slid up the track and Childers dove to the bottom. The pair came down the front stretch side by side, but it was Childers taking the win by a nose. Carson took the heat win for the division.
The Boss Snow Equipment Pony Stock division saw 20-laps of fast and furious action, with Patrick Denison taking the lead over Jeremy LaFontaine. The duo ran out front until lap five, when the second pack of cars, Rich Roberts, Lex Jarecki, Todd Metz Jr., and Wayne Beckner Jr., caught them. LaFontaine took the lead on lap 11, as Jarecki and Beckner Jr. ran side by side behind Roberts. Beckner Jr. got around Jarecki for fourth on lap 13, but Jarecki battled back to take the spot back on lap on lap 15. The second place car, Denison, quickly fell back, bringing Roberts and Jarecki up into the top three. Jarecki got around Roberts for second on lap 17 then went into the lead around LaFontaine on lap 18. At the checker, it was Jarecki, LaFontaine, Roberts, Beckner Jr., and Metz Jr. Denison and Beckner Jr. both took heat wins.
