Q: What do you think 2009 is going to bring to your race track(s)?
A: Good car counts, clean racing, and no rain outs for 2009
Q: When did your racing career start?
A: I started racing pro-stocks in 1994 at I-96 speedway
Q: Who was your mentor/teacher/idol as a before you started racing?
A: My idols are late model drivers Kris Paterson and Roger Wing
Q: Everyone has a "big fish" story.. the one that got away. What is your big fish
story ?
A: The 2008 Xxtreme 100 (at Mt. Pleasant Speedway). I let it get away but not this year.
Q: Tell me about your favorite or most memorable fan interaction.
A: I bring my biggest fan with me, Jordan. He’s a little boy with M.S and he loves
racing
Q: What current competitor of yours do you most admire.
A: Shannon and Ryan Fisk help me out with parts fuel and they build their own cars and
nice cars too.
Q: Looking into a crystal ball, how do you think your 2009 season will end ?
A: I hope to win another track championship and many more feature wins for Omm

Name: Roger Wing
Class: Super Late Model
Year of Championship: Won four track championships in the Sportsman division at Crystal Motor Speedway in the mid-1970s-early 1980s. Won three track championships in the Super Late Model class at Crystal in the 1980s. Won a track championship in the Sportsman class at the Ionia Fairgrounds in the early 1980s. Won track championships in the Super Late Model class at Owosso in 1995, 1999, and 2002.
Q: What do you think 2009 is going to bring to your race track(s)?
A: If you look at the rest of the world, you can't expect a lot. Hopefully the crate series at I-96 will create an affordable way to keep racing.
Q: When did your racing career start?
A: When I was 16 years-old. (Wing is now 54 years-old)
Q: Who was your mentor/teacher/idol as a before you started racing.
A: Butch Fedewa.
Q: Everyone has a "big fish" story or the one that got away. What is your big fish story?
A: My first year returning to dirt after 10 years on the asphalt, the last race of the season at I-96, all I had to do was finish to win the championship. With about five laps to go, a lapped car crossed in front of me trying to get off the track, took me out, and cost me the championship.
Q: Tell me about your favorite or most memorable fan interaction.
A: Being elected to the Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2004.
Q: What current competitor of yours do you most admire?
A: Rick Stout.
Q: Looking into a crystal ball, how do you think your 2009 season will end?
A: Confident it will be on the upbeat.
